Dun Uladh Heritage CentreTony Donnelly , Ballinamullan, Co. TyroneDun Ulady 'Fort of Ulster' is the provincial headquarters of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann, an organisation founded in 1951 for the purpose of fostering and promoting all aspects of Irish Traditional Culture, in particular music, song, dance and language. Opened in October 1995, Dun Uladh serves as a centre for those who wish to develop a deeper awareness of Ireland's ancient cultural heritage. As tourism encourages conservation of tradition, this project aims to be a cultural base for locals and visitors to the region and with the completion of Phase 1 the complex now boasts a theatre/ auditorium, bar, kitchen and restaurant. From early spring a full programme of event has been running with a build up to a traditional Irish Cabaret which will run weekly throughout the summer. For those who enjoy the more informal 'craic' join us for the traditional session every Saturday night. | |
